This ski season we’re asking staff about their favourite resorts so you can get the inside knowledge to help you choose where to go. Next up is Regional Travel Advisor Ann Brown with her choice of Saalbach in Austria:
Saalbach offers a good amount of skiing for all levels and there are several starting points which avoids bottlenecks on peak dates. It is said that you can ski for a week in Saalbach and not ski the same run twice as the ski circuit is so well organised. The ski school is very flexible and friendly and will meet groups from accommodations on request if it’s a ski out situation. Saalbach also enjoys a long snow record with north and south facing slopes.
It’s a very popular resort for schools, so make sure you book your evening entertainment well in advance. Check out if there’s an ice hockey match taking place as it’s always worth a visit.
The accommodations in Saalbach are well-run, family-owned and pupil-friendly. Some offer one group occupancy and many offer ski in and out, due to the location on the mountainside.
All in all, Saalbach is a great choice for your next school ski trip!
