Saalbach-Hinterglemm Overview

An internationally known resort with over 200km of piste, Saalbach-Hinterglemm is one of the most snow-reliable resorts in Austria. The slopes face all directions to form a ski-circus with a vast array of skiing to suit all abilities. The resort is a popular choice for groups with ideal slopes at both Hinterglemm and Viehhofen which link over to nearby Leogang. There are also good facilities for snowboarders with a flood-lit fun park and several half pipes. Next winter brings a new lift connection from Hinterglemm to Fieberbrunn opening up a further immense ski area. Evening entertainments include bowling, disco and sleigh rides.

  • Tree top path & Golden Gate - Hinterglemm

    What you’ll experience:

    Open all year round, the tree-top path and 'Alpine Golden Gate Bridge' is a massive larch wood construction with stairs, towers, bridges and platforms, offering fantastic lookout points for young and old. This tree-top path is the highest in Europe and is unique.

  • Bowling and games room at Bobby's - Saalbach

    Subject/age range: Physical Education, 10+

    What you’ll experience:

    Bobby's has got 4 automated bowling lanes for groups of up to 60 people to have a go at the kegeln (nine-pin bowling)! Open daily from 15:00.

  • Ice Skating - Hinterglemm

    The ice rink at the Saalbach Hinterglemm Sports Centre is open in the winter and is great fun for groups.

    Have a go at this alternative winter sport which is very popular in Austria.

  • Ski Show – Zell am See/Kaprun

    For 9 weeks from January to March SnowNight Pros show their skills. Expect awesome stunts and high jumps as well as a DJ and fireworks.

  • Ice Hockey Match - Zell am See

    Subject/age range: Cultural, Winter Sports, 10+

    What you’ll experience:

    Watch the EK Zeller Bären play in the Austrian Second Division. A coach is required from Saalbach (20km) and the activity is subject to team's schedule.

  • Swimming – Zell am See

    What you’ll experience:

    A 25m pool with a large waterslide. Transport is required from Saalbach (20km) and opening is daily from 10.00 to 22.00.

    The Gästehaus Reichkendl is located in an elevated position above the main road on the outskirts of Hinterglemm. It is a 10 minute walk away from the Zwölfer Nordbahn lift, which offers ski lockers. The beginners ski area is a 5 minute drive away in Hinterglemm, whilst intermediates may ski in and out of the hotel. This is an excellent youth friendly hotel and has recently been renovated to a good standard. This property is a great one party hotel for coach groups!
