Voss Overview

Voss is an area with a good snow record, benefiting from an average of 540cm of snow per year with the ski season generally running from Christmas through to April. There are also snow cannons that ensure snow in parts of the resort throughout the season. Voss is mainly an alpine skiing area with runs ranging from very easy to World Cup standard. It is also a charming village with a long and strong skiing history. You’ll find everything you need within walking distance. Right in the centre is the gondola, which takes you straight up the mountain. The gondola gives you the opportunity to travel “green” in less than nine minutes. Your accommodation benefits from a variety of great in-house options and there are some fantastic activities to enjoy – see ‘Après Ski’ tab for further details.

What you’ll experience: Voss Hostel lies idyllically by the lake Vangsvatnet with beautiful views towards Gråsida mountain. 700m from the train-and bus station, about 1km from Voss centre. Rooms: 40 rooms all with ensuite WC and shower Facilities: Guest kitchen, fireplace, drying room, ski storage room, table tennis and games room, sauna, tv/video room and lecture rooms. A dining room overlooking the lake uses a cafeteria system to provide an excellent breakfast buffet with organic products and home baked spelt bread and evening dinner.

What you’ll experience: Bowling in Alpe d’Huez offers school groups a fun and lively après-ski activity that’s perfect for all abilities. The bowling alley provides a relaxed, social setting where students can enjoy some friendly competition off the slopes. With music, snacks, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s a great way for groups to bond, unwind, and round off an active day in the mountains.
Select Says: The bowlng alley is open from 16:00-2:00 and from 14:00 on bad weather and during the school holidays. Located at Belle Plagne, groups will take the free shuttle bus to Plagne Bellecote and then enjoy a nighttime gondola ride to access the pedestrianised village of Belle Plagne!

Indoor Skydiving – Myrkdalen

What you’ll experience: Wind tunnel – VossVind. VossVind is Norway’s first vertical, recirculating wind tunnel. In a wind tunnel, one can experience flying in safe and controlled surroundings. Many people think that flying in a wind tunnel must be an extreme sport, but it is not. It’s perfectly safe. It’s just terribly exciting!

What you’ll experience: Enjoy a night out and pizza! A great opportunity for your group to socialise and enjoy a classic Italian meal after a day on the slopes. Sampling authentic Italian pizza is an essential night out for groups travelling to Italy and the Italian borders!

Swimming

Subject Range: Physical Education
What you’ll experience: A great way to relax tired muscles after a long day on the slopes. This fun evening activity includes a sauna area with water lagoons, underwater recliners with massage jets and a Mediterranean garden. It also includes a saltwater pool, waterslides including the first ever double loop slide and a speedy Formula 1 slide, an adventure playground, fun stream pool with a large pirate ship, and a large sports pool for lengths, competitions and technique training.
Select Says: Opening hours until 19:30 from Tuesday to Sunday. Located approximately 30 minutes from the resort. Please note that 1 adult per 8 children must also be present during this activity.

Fire on the beach

What you’ll experience: Enjoy marshmallows cooked on the fire and a hot drink after skiing.

Laser Tag

What you’ll experience: Located inside Voss Bowling. 12 sets of laser vests and “taggers”.

Vossamoro Winter Games

What you’ll experience: 1.5 hours of teams competing against each other in tug of war and other exercises. Held outside Voss Hostel.

Wood-fired Sauna

What you’ll experience: Relax after your ski lessons back at the accommodation, in a sauna overlooking the lake.

Waffles

What you’ll experience: Hangurstoppen Restaurant. Enjoy waffles with a selection of toppings and a hot drink after your ski lesson.
