Over the upcoming ski season we’re asking staff and teachers about their favourite resorts so you can get the inside knowledge that may help you choose where to travel for the next ski season. Second up is our Head of Overseas Operations, Neil Abraham:

The ski school is excellent (ESF), and there are lots of runs for all abilities with nursery slopes at resort and mid-station level. There is doorstep skiing and a wide range of evening entertainments on offer including: bowling, games arcades, swimming, ice skating, pizza nights, discos, night skiing – all accessible on foot so no coach is required.

My insider tip for skiing would be to follow signs for La Fee, which is a long, sweeping blue run which follows the contours of the mountain down from La Toura, with some stunning panoramic views. Stop off at Chalet La Fee for a hot chocolate and enjoy the peace a quiet of this less-travelled piste. Back in resort, go for a crepe in a very traditional alpine restaurant, complete with open fire, at Crepes-A-Go Go.

I also recommend taking the group swimming in the heated outdoor pool which is a great experience for the students (please remember no shorts for the boys, swimming trunks only, and 1 adult per 8 students in the water). It’s a great idea to grab a hot chocolate afterwards!

Thanks to Neil for his thoughts on Les Deux Alpes. We agree that it’s a fantastic resort for school ski trips! If you would like to find out more about Les Deux Alpes and view the ski facts, piste map, apres ski and accommodation, you can view here.
